After having checked out some twitter feeds and searched for topics on libraries I am still baffled as to the point of Twitter. I did have a look at the ALIA feed and that of Mylee and Ellen from SLNSW. They were interesting but the random ones that I found really did not make that much sense to me. I don't really get some of the shorthand that people use. It feels like I've heard a snippet of a conversation but I don't have access to what was said before.
There was a link to a very interesting article in the SMH on libraries http://tinyurl.com/yf86g6x.
O.K I now have an account with Twitter. I read a few online magazines/ newspapers so now I can tweet about articles etc. I have left a very brief tweet on the Huffington Post website. So I might have some fun with this after all.
My Twitter name is Libraryassist.
Do I like micro-blogging ..I'm not sure yet. I'll need to use it a bit more. I certainly know more about it now than I did prior to this course.
In terms of library usage. It could keep patrons updated on what is happening at their local library. Just an extra way to reach its patrons... and we know that is VERY important.

Learning 2.1
I have completely forgotten what my password for my original blog DEWEY DANCER was.... so I have started a new blog for this current version of the course LIBRARY 2.1.
I really like the widgets/gadgets that blogger has added to this service, it gives it a bit pizazz!
I haven't done any blogging since the course finished but I have become quite addicted to reading blogs. I particularly like ones to do with 'eco' subjects, food and feminism.I don't comment on peoples blogs, I'm not sure why, maybe because you need to register to do that and I just feel like it is just too much trouble , there are already so many passwords etc to remember.
