After having checked out some twitter feeds and searched for topics on libraries I am still baffled as to the point of Twitter. I did have a look at the ALIA feed and that of Mylee and Ellen from SLNSW. They were interesting but the random ones that I found really did not make that much sense to me. I don't really get some of the shorthand that people use. It feels like I've heard a snippet of a conversation but I don't have access to what was said before.

O.K I now have an account with Twitter. I read a few online magazines/ newspapers so now I can tweet about articles etc. I have left a very brief tweet on the Huffington Post website. So I might have some fun with this after all.
My Twitter name is Libraryassist.
Do I like micro-blogging ..I'm not sure yet. I'll need to use it a bit more. I certainly know more about it now than I did prior to this course.
In terms of library usage. It could keep patrons updated on what is happening at their local library. Just an extra way to reach its patrons... and we know that is VERY important.
